Code of Ethics
All members of the ACTM, by virtue of their acceptance of
membership in the College, are bound by the Code of Ethics. Any member
who breaches this Code of Ethics may forfeit membership, if required by
the College Council, and surrender their certificate of membership.
- Members must be responsible for the ethical and professional
conduct in relation to patients, clients, employers, employees,
associates, the public and research;
- Members must be responsible for professional competence in
performance of all their professional activities;
- Members shall protect the professional interests, reputation and
good name of the College and its members, or of any deserving
professional organisation and its members, involved in tropical
medicine or its associated disciplines; and
- Members shall seek to continue their professional development,
shall actively assist in the professional development of new and
other members of the College, and shall encourage the development of
new and other members of the College, and shall encourage the
development of expertise among non-members working in tropical
medicine or its associated disciplines.
