Nominations
The College seeks nominations from College members for:
- ACTM Medal for Outstanding Contributions to Tropical Medicine, Travel Medicine or Expedition and Wilderness Medicine, through research, development, and or teaching.
- ACTM Medal for Outstanding Service to the College.
- Major General John Pearn Surgeon General’s Medal for Outstanding Contributions to Tropical Medicine by a member of the uniformed services (requires endorsement by the Surgeon General of the Australian Defence Force)
- ACTM Award for Educational Excellence for outstanding educators/group of educators/organisation at the undergraduate, postgraduate and/or continuing professional development level
- ACTM John M Goldsmid Award for the best paper published in the Annals of the ACTM
- ACTM Presentation Award for the best original paper presented at an ACTM Scientific Meeting (preference to postgraduate students as a lead author)
- Honorary Fellowship and Honorary Membership.
- Membership and Fellowship Through Distinction
The College also appoints eminent persons to present the following Orations and Special Lectures
- Ashdown Oration and Medal, in memory of the late Dr Les Ashdown, Foundation Vice President of the College, usually presented during College conferences or convocations.
- Copeman Oration, in memory of the late A/Prof C. Bruce Copeman, AO, presented at College Convocation.
- Anton Breinl Memorial Lecture, in memory of the Foundation Director of the Australian Institute of Tropical Medicine, Townsville.
The College also supports a number of student awards at various institutions in Australia and abroad (awarded by subscribing institutions)
- ACTM Medal for students to recognize excellence in scholarship and research.
- Rick Speare Medal for students to recognize excellence in postgraduate coursework
